Another Well Educated Beginning

Well a couple of months ago, any time I would run my shins would hurt really really bad when I ran. {I honestly had no idea why} Its been bothering me, so I decided to look into it some more. What was happening when I was running was shin splints. Horrible horrible pain, and I would always have to stop. So I typed it into google and what do you know, I should’ve listened to Tabitha a long time ago and should’ve gotten better shoes! Winking smile

My new shoes & running socks! {And no I didn’t pick them out because of the color for once, it just happened to work out for better} I went to an actually shoe store that specializes in runners and running shoes. (Its called “Second Sole”)

I also found out that I am an overpronater! (most people are I was told) but these shoes felt so amazing I will never just go buy shoes at a regular store again.

Hopefully I will get to go into the gym tomorrow and gift it another shot with my new shoes.

I’ll let you know how it goes!

Sounds like you have shin splints. (As you said)...Here is how to take care of them and speed up the recovery process: stretch them really well. Sit on the floor with your legs straight out, and have Carl press down on your feet (towards you), as he does this try and resist him and push back. Also have him push the other way and do the same thing/resist in the opposite direction. You're also going to want to ice them. Freeze a dixie cup filled with water, take out of freezer and rip the top part off and rub the ice on your shins. (press down, like your massaging them) And your going to want to take it easy!! Shin splints take a long time to recover and can led to a stress fracture. Definately not good.
