The Beginning

In January of this year I stepped on the scale and that is where is all started.

I knew I wasn't where I wanted to be, I had gained yet again more weight. It could've been because of the loss of my grandpa, in December, or more because of my lack of self control and laziness. I had made a goal to myself to become healthy, not like when most people say "lose weight" or "tone up," but to genuinely become healthy.

That's when I made my first mistake. I slipped into a "diet." I decided to do Atkins, which for some people may work but for me it just seemed unrealistic. You can't go through your entire life wanting something and forbidding yourself to ever have it again. Lesson #1 that I learned- Don't restrict yourself. Although I would say Atkins was a mistake I did learn Lesson #2 --portion control. I have never been one who knew the terms "moderation" or "portion control" seeing as I could honestly get finished with dinner but because I wanted potato chips and dip I just went and had some. (gross I know but very true)

From using Atkins and working out, I lost 19 pounds so far. I decided to move on from the diet and actually doing what my goal was to attain in the first place, to become healthy. I now use a website called myfitnesspal.com. (It seems more realistic.) And I have recently started to walk daily. (speed walking along with one of the best support members, Carl)

I have a long road ahead of me, but I have one of the best "support teams." My mom, my sister Tabitha, and my amazing boyfriend Carl are continuously there for me through everything and I can't thank them enough.
